The Buy Fresh, Buy Local Nebraska initiative was initiated by a group of farmers, consumers and area businesses who recognize the challenges facing small Nebraskan farmers today and know that the tastiest food often comes from close to home.

The Nebraska initiative is based on similar initiatives that have proven very successful in other areas of the country and is a collaborative effort of the Nebraska Sustainable Agriculture Society, Nebraska Cooperative Development Center and the Nebraska Great Plains Resource Conservation and Development.

Buy Fresh, Buy Local business membership benefits include a listing in the local food guide and the use of provided initiative materials including posters, membership certificate and copies of the local food guide. These materials will market your business as a strong supporter of the local community.

Additionally, retail outlets will receive Nebraska local food shelf-talkers that can be used to highlight local food items in your store and restaurants will receive local food promotional table-tents.

All initiative participants must renew their membership annually by registering with the Buy Fresh, Buy Local initiative. Become a member today by filling out the appropriate form in your correct Business Membership category and submitting online or contact Buy Fresh Buy Local Nebraska directly.
